Desc: Cracking Up: Directed by Francis Agyapong. A film about a friend whose body's disjointed, $1 million+ in debt, going through a foreclosure and battling mental illness, alone. With all this baggage, or "mental real-estate", accompanying his thoughts and worries, the emerging question is, "What will foreclose first, his home or his mind?" This friend is Edward A. Parker of 467 MacDonough Street, Brooklyn, NY. He's 63 years old and unemployed with no benefits. He's the nightmare of the Housing Crisis personified; living in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, arguably the current face of gentrification in New York City. This is both his plight and his way out. As the face of the neighborhood changes, Parker's home grows more valuable. In the best case, he clears his debt by selling his home and retaining a livable profit. Unfortunately, standing in his way are glorified salesmen (i.e. sleazy realtors) and his own crippling anxiety in connection to the broader situation.
